I just wanted to discuss them, as I think that is a great idea.

Simple and effective.

One thing bothers me though is the fact that they are very expensive, I mean, it's the triple of a common domain. I hate when they care more about the profit that the idea itself

Yup...it was quite insane how expensive they were before it actually went live to general public...now its actually not all that expensive...around 12 -13 USD ..I saw it at ResellerClub for USD 12.99...suprisingly I could not find it on GoDaddy...they seem to offer most...maybe I missed it...could'nt track it on ENOM either..but from what I read .tel is doing quite well..lot of domain speculators taking up good names, hoping they will have the value of .coms someday,i guess .

Why not get the usuall TLD of a .Com or .Net, i mean a .TEL just sounds different lol.

The .tel allows individuals and businesses alike to store and manage all their contact information and keywords directly on the internet without the need to build, host or manage a website. It will eventually became famous domain extension when people knows how to use it.

I think it is better to consider a .info domain instead of a .tel domain as it is cheaper when it comes to the cost and can do the same thing as a .tel domain can, however, you need to consider a small hosting package and setup your website with a webpage if you consider a .info domain.

I have seen great examples of .tel but it takes obviously some additional effort to develop and market them over more traditional TLDs.

Maybe when they are more widely recognizable they'd be worth getting, but at this point there seems to be better valued tld's.

For all types of online businesses, the .com extension and TLD comes as the primary choice actually, unless the market is already so full of names where you cannot find anything available, not even through buying domain names at the online auctions. It seems that although a lot of new extensions have been offered by the registrars,m but still millions of domain holders worldwide are still in favor of using the good old .com TLD and this is understandable.
